November 30, 2004 This morning I was able to finish the game Syberia before work. I'd been playing it for ages and only just recently took it up again (now that I'm done with Zelda). I have to say that the game was stunning! The visual experience was spectacular. In the game, you visit four cities, each a bit stranger than the last. The environment of each really rubs off on you. Although you start in France, most of the game takes place in three Russian cities. All of them are run-down skeletons of what they once were. The music was simply awesome. The characters are pretty interesting too. Each has a well-defined personality, but some even have some depth, especially the main character. I did like the constant cell phone calls the main character gets in the game; it added somewhat to the realism. Definitely a game worth playing. Now I have to start the sequel! Today I'm feeling a bit philosophical because of Syberia. It really was a moving story, although highly linear. Work will be quite difficult to sit through. I have school tonight, but I need to work late, so I won't have time to sit down with a coffee before class. Maybe I will anyway, though. .
