July 28, 2005 I found a new Linux Live CD that I'm using to help with my exhibit for the Vintage Computer Festival Midwest 1.0. It's called Slax and is apparently based on Slackware Linux. Slax is pretty damn sweet. My problem with creating a Live CD for my exhibit was that I needed a number of files on the CD ready for use that are not standard Linux components. Slax allows you to drop them in a specific directory andthen run a simple script which builds a bootable CD image. Awesome! I burned a live CD that has all the source code for my project and a DOS compiler. Using the Slax Kill Bill edition, I can run dos programs under DosBox without any problem and upload the compiled binaries to my Rainbow easily. i strongly recommend Slax to anyone who needs a Live CD. Adios, Jeff .
