July 5, 2005 I read a story this morning about a guy who was fired in the U.K. for stating his views on copyright and intellectual property on national television. Apparently the guy had operated a website that had Bittorrent trackers to movies, a number of which were illegal. He had been served with legal papers by the MPAA. He said all this in his interview on television. Well, the next day he was fired from his company for making inappropriate remarks. He basicly said that he did not think copyright or intellectual property rights were good ideas. Seems a little steep to be fired over your views. So what, he stated them on national television. I don't know what the laws are in the U.K., but I'd say he has a good chance at suing his company for wrongful termination. Adios, Jeff .
