October 11, 2005 I got a call from my friend JR last night. We hadn't spoken in a while, but he is proabbly still my closest friend (he was my best man in my wedding). He said he was finally going to leave Cleveland. He wants to live in Pheonix, AZ. It'll be sad to see him go since he is one of the very few college friends I still hear from at all. It's a bit depressing. I don't have many friends left in the area any longer. It's mostly just me and my wife, which is fine. I don't really know the neighbors that well yet, but they all seem nice enough. Of course, with winter coming, I'll hardly see them anymore anyway. I've mad some progress on my Freenet client, exhale. I' really simplified the interface, but I've discovered that it's bugginess was almost entirely due to a Freenet library I was using. It was a really garbled piece of work, so I rewrote my own. IT's almost working, but somehting si still a bit wrong, and finding the problem is difficult since the Freenet documentation leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sure I'll figure it out, but I'm loooking at a release before the end of the month, hoepfully. I do like writing software that is available for download. It make me feel productive, but in a way I enjoy. Of course, I also enjoy being productive at home, by which I mean painitng walls or mowing the yard. It's just different. Adios, Jeff .
