Heat sugar and water together into a syrup. Some say equal amounts, some say one tsp sugar to two tsp water. (Per serving?) Pour hot mixture over bruised mint, just a few leaves, fresh as possible. Pour about 2, 2.5 oz whiskey (some say only Kentucky Bourbon) over top of a little of that syrup in the bottom of the glass. Serve it with a sprig of mint on top of course, while wearing white linen. Just remember, it's 99% whiskey. .
