The Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies WWW server is now operational and can be reached at The Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) is a research collaboration between the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). CIMSS scientists work with NOAA to transfer research ideas into the operational world of weather analysis and forecasting. The CIMSS research focus is on the development and testing of products from operational weather satellite observing systems, and in instrument design and testing, and related software development, for improved space-based measurements of the earth's atmosphere. CIMSS is very active in national and international field programs, testing new instrumentation, data processing systems and assessing the geophysical utility of measurements. ______________________________________________________________ Mark Whipple The Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies 1225 West Dayton Street Madison, Wisconsin 53706 email: Mark.Whipple@ssec.wisc.edu phone: (608)263-7494 fax:(608)262-5974 .
