Please note that this Gopher menu for the Department of Geography will only
contain regular and general information about our department. For our
department's news, announcement, and any validity events (seminars, talks, 
activities etc), please refer to our local newsgroup hkbu.geog.dept (for
official announcements), or hkbu.geog.forum (for regular announcements and
other activates) in the university's Usenet newserver. 

Refer to CTSC's manual on how to access those newsgroups. In general, you
can select item 3 from the main networked PC menu in our college to read
those news. For campus users, you can also access these newsgroup through
our campus Worldwide Web Server (select item 4 from Netware menu).

For news and announcements on field camps and related activites, however,
you can also refer to the Oversea Field Camp menu of this gopher.

We will still distribute the news and announcments by conventional methods,
including posting on our notice boards, announce on Newsletter and/or Social
Science Newsheet, and by campus mail to other departments. For Online copy
of Newsletter, please refer to the Administrative Department gopher menu.
