Map Library, as part of Geography Department setups, contain a variety range of collections on large map sheets (world cities, China and Hong Kong), wall maps (World Regionals in variety themes), LandSat images and posters (Hong Kong and Pearl Delta Region), Aerial Photos (Hong Kong), large Atlases, Population Census Statistic (Hong Kong), Weather Summaries (Hong Kong), Newspaper cuttings, Geography software (on disk and CD-Rom), Geo-related slides and video, past student works and honour projects, and other related reference materials. The latest collection index is available in the computer terminal set asided in our Map Library. You are most welcome to use, and to preform any complex search using this system. The printout index has been replaced by this system. If you want to obtain printout, you should use the copy of index stored in this gopher stated in the next paragraph. An updated collection index is also available in this gopher, under the Departmental sub-menu. For more information about Map Library Index, please refer to the "About" text under Map Library Index submenu. Sorry, but at the present time, our on-gopher Map Library Index is restricted to on-campus access only. The Map Library also manage two notice boards outside our office, named "Current News Interested to Geographer" and "Geographic Theme board". The Current News Interested to Geographer board posts newspaper cuttings which may be of interested to geography students, while the Geographic Theme board used to post articles on special geography issues. Our Map Library also maintain a World Wide Web Server for the Geographic Resources Center at http://geog.hkbu.edu.hk. This site contain on-line information and data on spatial related topics.
