Within this .zip file there are three executable files {degsite.exe, degdos.exe and degansi.exe}, two tutorial files {test.mtf and u72.seq} and a copy of the GNU General Public License [gnupl.txt]. The three executable files are command-line applications. Degansi.exe runs in a DOS environment which has the file ansi.sys loaded during the boot up. This program utilizes some of the capabilities to manipulate screen output. In the absence of this utility some of the screen output "acquires" some peculiar additions. Degdos.exe runs in a DOS environment. There is no reliance upon the presence of ansi.sys. This program also runs as a command-line application in a console window (DOS prompt) in a Windows95/98 and a Windows NT environment. Degsite.exe has all of the functional properties of degdos.exe except it is somewhat smaller in size. The two tutorial files are made available as templates for the user to prepare their own versions of these supplemental files. The three executable files are subject to the GNU General Public License and users are expected to abide by the terms of this license. As noted above, a copy of the license is included in this .zip file. Whichever of the three programs is to be installed, the entire .zip file should be expanded into a directory and those which are unwanted should be deleted. The program expects the file of motifs (.mtf) and the file of the sequence (.seq) to be in the same directory. The user will provide the file name (without extension) at the appropriate point during running of the application.
