Plasmid Processor Homepage
Introduction
Plasmid Processor is a simple tool for plasmid presentation for
scientific and educational purposes. It features both circular
(Fig.1) and
linear
(Fig.2)
DNA, user defined restriction sites, genes and multiple cloning site. In
addition you can manipulate plasmid by inserting and deleting fragments.
Created drawings can be copied to clipboard or saved to disk for later
use. Printing from withing program is also supported.
Plasmid Processor is freeware, so you can use and distribute it freely.
Plasmid Processor development is put on hold, because we are working on
a new program that can be used for plasmid presentation but also
much more. Features include better graphics and realistic operations.
Ease of use and fast operation are still strongly emphasized.
Update - 03/31/98
Development of the new program is progressing well. The program will
be out in autumn -98. We may release a beta version before June
(things will probably slow down a bit for the summer). In that case,
you'll find the beta version here. In any case, you'll find the
latest information here. We apologize that we've kept you waiting
(and continue to do so:).
We could give you nice screenshots of the program, but it has quite
a few new features never seen before in a plasmid presentation
program and we don't want someone using them before we get our
program released.
A list of features will
have to
suffice.
- smooth and scalable graphics (enhanced metafile format)
- multiple plasmids allowed
- fully scalable plasmid drawing surfaces - resize plasmid
windows a you like
- enhanced system for plasmid parameter input
- sorry, Windows* 95/NT only
Thanks for your suggestions concerning the older version of Plasmid
Processor. They've been a great help.

Download
You can download full executable version of Plasmid Processor 1.02 for
Windows (tm) here:
plasp102.zip
(239k).
Note: Plasmid Processor does not have an installation program. To install
it you must unpack the archive (plasp102.zip) with WinZip(tm) or
PkUnzip(tm). You must create the directory where you unpack the files
(for
example c:\plasmid\). Finally you should create an icon or a shortcut for
the program.
