Hello! I have version 4.11 of Sequencer Plus Gold, and I have observed a a strange phenomena. I'll try to explain it as clear as possible. Here are the steps for recreating the problem: 1. Start with a new song. 2. Add some empty bars to track 1. 3. Enter a "0" in the "Prg" column of track 1 in the main screen. 3. Insert a program change message with a value other than 0 somewhere in bar 1. 4. Optionally, enter some notes in the subsequent bars for an audible reference. Now, when PROGRAMS is ON in the Options menu, starting playback from, say bar 4, causes the embedded program change to be sent at the start, just as it should. But here comes the weird thing: 5. Save the file as a .MID file. 6. Delete all tracks, and load the saved .MID file back again. Now, when I play from bar 4, it seems that the backtrace of the program change doesn't work properly any longer. It sends the program change number in the "Prg" column (0), but the program change embedded in bar 1 seems to be ignored. Only if I start playing at the bar DIRECTLY FOLLOWING the bar with the embedded program change, it gets transmitted properly. It is possible to make it work again by zapping bar one, and then inserting a new program change. Strange way of solving it though... This was just a tiny example of how to recreate the problem. It seems this thing isn't just related to the first bar. If I load a ..MID file with several embedded program changes in one track, and start playing at a point somewhere between two program changes (except the bar directly following a bar with an embedded program change), it seems the program change before the starting point isn't "chased" and transmitted properly, even if I have PROGRAMS ON in the Options menu. BUT, as I stated before, if I start playing at the bar DIRECTLY FOLLOWING a bar with an embedded program change, it gets transmitted. I hope you will be able to reconstruct it at your side, and maybe explain why it works like this. I have tried other .MID files also, downloaded from the net, and saved from a sequencer on an Atari, and the result is the same. Maybe this is how it should be, I don't know, but I think it is strange that the "chase" function only works properly when loading files in the native .SNG format. My serial number of SP Gold is SPG 508395. Yours sincerely, Mats Peterson .
