SCANNING
  1. the action of rapidly glancing through an incident from beginning (earliest moment of the incident) to the end of the incident. (HCOB 12 Dec 71 IX)
  2. one contacts an incident and recognizes it as a concept of an incident. The preclear then goes forward from this incident to the next one of a similar type that he can recognize. (SOS, Bk. 2, p. 126)
