~ Scanners notes ~ Hi, This is issue #1 of Cinebooks English release of Melusine. Oddly enough they released the books in a different order. In the original French releases, Hocus Pocus was book #7. The books themselves have little continuity beyond establishing new characters, so the re-ordering is not that important, though still odd. I apologize for my tardiness in releasing this scan (been over half a year, every excuse I can mention came up). The books were printed in poor quality paper, and it was a challenge for a novice scanner like me to make the most out of the scans. I believe I've managed to nail the correct combination which is neither artificially smooth, nor as terribly grainy as the original pages. If the colors look odd - too high contrast, or wrong coloring, sometimes different from page to page - these are all normal. I don't know what went wrong when Cinebook transferred the pages, because the original French books are unlike that. For these English releases, the first two books vary the contrast from page to page, while the third and fourth ones show high improvements in comparison. I've decided not to correct the colors from page to page, but to keep everything as it originally was, for better or worse. Sadly it appears that Cinebook is not releasing any new volumes of Melusine anymore. If anyone is interested in fan translating the other French volumes, please drop me an email at grodbeldekk@gmail.com; I've already started buying the French volumes, and if there is serious interest in translating, I'll scan those as well. Remember to support the authors! The original Cinebook releases are still in stock in many shops and they are very cheap, plus they are also available digitally: http://bdcomics.izneo.com/cinebook-melusine-english-version-S2004590 Even if you have no way of buying a physical copy, you can show your support by buying a digital one. All 21 (as of this writing) French tomes are also available there. I hope you enjoy this scan!
